Bajaj Pulsar N160 Review: Things you need to know
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Review: Things you need to know
The
Bajaj Pulsar N160 is an added iteration to the not-so-new Pulsar NS160, as it
entered the Indian market in 2017. The NS160 is also one of the
bestselling Bajaj
bikes in India.
For
reference, the new Pulsar N160 doesn't share any components with the Bajaj
Pulsar NS160. It gets a new engine, a new gearbox, a new frame and different
design elements that look similar to its elder sibling, the Bajaj Pulsar N250.
In addition, at the time of the launch, the Pulsar N160 had the
first-in-segment dual-channel ABS on offer.
But,
the question remains, and everyone will probably have in mind: what should I
expect from the bike? To find an answer to that, read the article below.
Bajaj Pulsar N160: Design and Features
As
mentioned earlier, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 looks more or less similar to its
elder sibling, the Pulsar N250. The front of the bike has aggressive styling,
accompanied by a pair of futuristic-like LED DRLs and projector headlamps. The
naked street bike also gets a split seat with a seat height set at 795mm. To
know the comfort and how you might end up sitting on the bike, check out
the Bajaj
Pulsar N160 review.
After
sitting on the bike, the biker will look at the semi-digital instrument
cluster. It might not be the favourite of young riders, but it does the job by
displaying all the necessary data about the bike. Moreover, some riders would
be delighted to know that the Bajaj Pulsar N160 also features a USB charging
port.
Bajaj Pulsar N160: Engine and Performance
As
for the Bajaj Pulsar N160 specifications, the new 160cc Twin Spark Oil-Cooled
DTS-i engine is good for 16PS at 8750rpm and 14.65Nm of torque at 6500rpm. It
is available with a five-speed manual gearbox. This engine shouldn't disappoint
you as it is one of the smoothest, refined yet responsive engines out there
among its competitors. Furthermore, the Pulsar N160 sails smoothly around the
corners at high speeds. That means the grip and traction offered by the bike
are truly impressive!

N160 review.
However,
apart from that, the top-spec variant of the Pulsar N160 has a dual-channel
ABS. For the dual-channel ABS variant, the customer will have to shell out an
extra premium of Rs 5000, but that will make it worth the purchase. The added
ABS will give the rider more confidence and will provide added safety.
Besides
that, the bike will also absorb most of the bumps seamlessly. The top-spec
variant gets 37mm telescopic front forks, while the base variant gets 31mm. On
the other hand, the top-spec variant will have a bigger 300mm front disc than
the base model's 280mm front disc brakes. So, these were a few highlights of
the bike. For more information, head to autoX.
Bajaj Pulsar N160: Variants and Prices
The
Bajaj Pulsar N160 has two variants that are currently available on the market.
The base model is the single-channel ABS, which has a price tag of Rs 122,854/-
(ex-showroom, Delhi). The top model, dual-channel ABS, on the other hand, has a
price tag of Rs 127,853/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). As per the figures, there is a
price difference of Rs 5000 between those two variants. You can also consider
the Apache 160 4V as the base model of the Pulsar N160 is similarly priced.
