Mahindra XUV 700 - The Most Complete Review Yet!

If you are looking to buy an SUV, there’s always a lot of confusion between the regular SUVs and the MUVs (Multi Utility Vehicles). If you’re still not sure whether you should go for an SUV or MUV, then this complete review of Mahindra XUV 700 will help you decide!

Exterior Design

There is a certain ruggedness to the Mahindra XUV700 that the more sedate SUVs lack. In addition, its design is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing. With LED daytime running lights that light up beautifully and a body-coloured cladding that can be seen all around, you know you are in for a tough experience when it comes to hitting the open road. There are however complaints of rattles and other noises coming from under the bonnet of this car and many find it slightly too noisy for their liking.

Interior Design

The Mahindra XUV700 brings a much-needed option to the country's booming SUV market. This is especially true considering the prime competitor in this segment, the Scorpio, isn't as rugged and capable. As someone who travels to some remote areas of India frequently, I can say that these are qualities are more important than ever. In fact, when I look at the competitors (mostly from Jeep and Toyota), there is no vehicle available with all-terrain capability like the Mahindra does, and for good reason too. It takes about an hour to traverse some of the boulders and creeks that I've crossed in my test vehicle, one of them being over five feet high.

Engine and Transmission

The Mahindra XUV 700 has a 2.2-liter, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 134 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that has plenty of power for passing maneuvers on the highway and even hills.

Comfort And Convenience Features

A common trend in the Indian SUV market is to keep adding more bells and whistles to a product, but Mahindra has broken away from that trend by only including what customers need and what's important. And it shows: the dashboard has been beautifully simplified with analogue clocks, a TFT screen on the instrument panel with space for phone connectivity, and voice controls. An automatic climate control system keeps things comfortable inside even as outside temperatures soar into extreme conditions.
The driver also enjoys features like electronic steering adjustment and a height-adjustable driver seat that ensures your back is never too close or too far from the pedals for comfortable driving.

Safety Features

ABS brakes, EBD, seat belts and airbags with dual airbags all make up the safety features in the Mahindra SUV. Airbag on passenger side is due to Indian legislation which requires driver to also wear a seat belt. Driver's seat belt has automatic retractor and passenger's has a manual one. Seatbelts have three-point design that fastens around the pelvis (the strongest part of the body) as well as over chest.

Mahindra XUV700 Price in india

The Mahindra XUV700 comes with a starting price of around Rs. 13.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Other than the 6.2L diesel engine, it is also offered with a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission in order to cater to the needs of different customers. In addition, it offers generous cargo space and five seats which makes it a good family car for country roads. Moreover, it has three rows that can be folded so you can use them as extra storage when you need more room for shopping or transporting big items. These features make this car a good choice for anyone who is looking for a rugged SUV but doesn't want to spend too much money on their purchase. For those who don't mind spending more, there are plenty of other SUVs from other manufacturers with better features and performance available at higher prices. If you're interested in getting one, then check out our review below to see if this vehicle is right for you.
